Color Spectrum Wavelength. There are seven colors of visible light. The color spectrum order from highest wavelength to lowest is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, and each color exists over a wavelength range.
Use Color to Differentiate Errors from Normal Field States Red is the color that is associated most with errors, along with orange or yellow for warnings, and green or blue for success. Make sure that the color of the validation text stands out from the rest of the form so the user will notice it quickly.
Purple is the color of royalty, success, wealth, and wisdom. Use it to soothe and provide calm. Youll also see it in cosmetics and anti-aging products. Purple represents an imaginative, wise, and creative brand.
The idea is simple. When you choose a new color palette, 60% of the palette is dedicated to the dominant color usually, we call it neutral. Secondary color, or complementary, makes up 30% of the palette, and a third color, accent one, is used for the remaining 10% of the design.
For example, we have a messaging palette where green is used to convey success, orange for warning, and red for error.
What are the seven types of color schemes? The seven major color schemes are monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split complementary, triadic, square, and rectangle (or tetradic).
Alert colors are used to reflect status. Typically, red represents danger or error; orange represents a serious warning; yellow represents a regular warning, and green represents normal or success.
From my experience, heres how I would expect the error-color association: Green: Success; task has been finished. Amber: Warning; task may not finish. Red: Error; task cant be finished.
