In the Review tab, click the Protect option and select Encrypt with Password. Youll be prompted to enter the password you originally used to protect the document. When youve entered the password, click the OK button and then the Remove Password option.
Change a password: Choose File Change Password (from the File menu at the top of your screen). Enter the requested information, then click Change Password. A document can have only one password, so if you change the password when you share the document, that becomes the documents only password.
Keep in mind that passwords are case-sensitive and at most 15 characters long. Step 1: Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Step 2: Enter new password, then type it again to confirm. Step 3: Click OK Step 4: Save.
Protect Microsoft Office files with Restrict Access Open the Word document where you would like to use Restrict Access. Click File. Click Info. Click Protect Document, and then click one of these available options. Unrestricted Access is open permissions for anyone to read, copy, or share the document.
Remove a password from a document Open the document and enter its password. Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Clear the password in the Password box, and then click OK.
Under Editing restrictions, select Allow only this type of editing in the document, and make sure the list says No changes (Read only). Select Yes, Start Enforcing Protection. In the box that opens, type a password youll be able to remember, and then type the password again to confirm it. The password is optional.
Removing a password from a document is a simple process, but you have to know the original password. Open the document and enter its password. Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Clear the password in the Password box, and then click OK.
