Change the font format, color, or size for bullets or numbers in a list Click a bullet or number in a list. All the bullets or numbers in the list are selected. On the Home tab, in the Font group, make the changes that you want. For example, click the arrow next to Font Color, and then click the color that you want.
You can number headings so that top-level headings (Heading 1) are numbered 1, 2, 3, for example, and second-level headings (Heading 2) are numbered 1.1, 1.2, 1.3. Open your document that uses built-in heading styles, and select the first Heading 1. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, choose Multilevel List.
Change the numbering in a numbered list Double-click the numbers in the list. The text wont appear selected. Right-click the number you want to change. Click Set Numbering Value. In the Set value to: box, use the arrows to change the value to the number you want.
Number the cells in a table in Word Select the table cells that you want to number. To number the beginning of each row, select only the first column in the table by clicking the columns top border. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Numbering.
Define a new number format Select the text or numbered list you want to change. , and then click Define New Number Format. To change the style, click the down arrow next to Number style and choose numbers, letters, or another chronological format.
If you already have a list written and want to add bullets or make it numbered, select the list, and then choose Bullets or Numbers. Choosing the down arrow for each gives you other bullet or numbering options. In Word, if your numbered list has breaks in it, type the number you want to continue with.
