The reveal is this: Everyone in Victory is living in a simulation designed by Frank, who in our real (present-day) world is an incel-like cult leader who has brainwashed men to pay him to live in a virtual-reality simulation of the 1950s.
The movies earthquakes happen throughout the films story, but they are always played off as a sign of what the Victory Project is up to and something that is not an issue for Dont Worry Darlings town. Understandably, this leads to speculation that weaponry could be what the men are working on.
The only wife that knows whats going on is Bunny (Olivia Wilde), who reveals that she agreed to sign up for the Victory Project in the real world after her children died. In the simulation, Bunny has two kids (well, virtual kids) and lives happily. Bunny never told Alice the truth.
The movie reveals that the 1950s setting of Dont Worry Darling is all , as the Victory Project is an artificial world and shared experience. Its all created by Frank in the real world as a means to escape reality, giving people the chance to live happier lives where they are in control.
Its not clear what purpose food serves in the simulation other than to play at normalcy but, one morning, Alice is shocked to discover that the eggs she cracks are empty. The shells with no real substance arent just a strange, unsettling image, but a hint at Dont Worry Darlings deeper themes and twist ending.
One theory suggests that if the eggs are taken as a symbol of fertility, their hollowness foreshadows how none of the children in Victory are real but simply programmed simulations, but this feels like a too-nuanced explanation for a film that far too often resorts to bluntness.
Confronted by Alice, Jack confesses the truth: Victory is a simulated world created by Frank, where he and the other men lead their version of perfect lives; the women they have forced into the simulation are unaware that their lives in Victory, and their children, are artificial.
How does Dont Worry Darling end? In a fit of shock and fury, Alice kills Jackwhich apparently also kills him in the real world. (Who knows how or why?) She takes off toward the in-simulation Victory headquarters, where the husbands congregate every day to exit the VR and re-enter reality.
