starting from the beginning what is a lightburn image mode when you import a file into lightburn thatamp;#39;s not a vector format the layer that gets assigned will show up as image rather than line or fill 95% of the time this is used when engraving photographs however if you want to import a non vectorized cartoon or digital graphic it will display as image as well to access the image mode you double click on the layer for your photo and youamp;#39;ll see a little drop down menu about 3/4 of the way down the screen hereamp;#39;s a list of the 10 image mode options that lightburn utilizes the first nine process your image more or less the same way the 10th option grayscale operates by a completely different process to understand the difference between the first nine options and grayscale mode we need to do a little Deep dive into how images work in the world of laser engraving the first nine on that list work by using an algorithm to convert your Source image to a true one bit blac

TIFF allows for both additive (e.g. RGB, RGBA) and subtractive (e.g. CMYK) color models.
TIFF files are very high qualitymuch higher quality than most JPEGsbut the trade-off is that theyre big. You do, however, have some options for making them smaller by using compression. When it comes to TIFF, two main compression options are availabletheyre known as LZW or ZIP.
Do TIFF files support CMYK? TIFF files support CMYK color, which is the standard format for color printing. TIFFs also support RGB.
The TIFF image appears black as the palette of shades the computer screen has is way more limited than that of the TIFF image (256 levels per color on the computer screen versus 65536 levels per color in the TIFF file).
Color modes are the settings designers use to show colors consistently across devices and materials. Commonly used modes are LAB, RGB, CMYK, index, grayscale and bitmap, which differ in quality and file size. Designers pick modes to optimize images and ensure these appear identically across media for brand consistency.
Four types of baseline TIFF images are available: bilevel (black and white), gray scale, palette (i.e., indexed), and RGB (i.e., true color). RGB images may store up to 16.7 million colors. Palette and gray-scale images are limited to 256 colors or shades. A common extension of TIFF also allows for CMYK images.
As a tagged image file, most computers can open and handle TIFFs, but youll need editing software like docHub Photoshop to make any edits to the original image.
Once the file is uploaded, click on the Edit button next to the file name. In the editing toolbar, click on the Darken Image option. A new window will appear with a slider that allows you to adjust the darkness level of the images. Move the slider to the right to darken the images or to the left to lighten them.
