How To Black Out Text in PDF Files Open our online PDF editor. Click and drag a PDF into the toolbox. Click on the square symbol and select Rectangle. Ensure the color is set to black, and resize it to cover text. Hit Finish and save the document.
To do this, go to View Display Theme in docHub Readers top menu bar. There, you can choose from Light Gray and Dark Gray options. Dark Gray is closer to dark mode; its not fully black, but is the best choice for dark mode fans. If you often change your OS theme, select System Theme here.
Open in Reader a PDF that you need to darken, and then select Preferences from the Edit menu. Check the Replace Document Colors check box, and then click a dark color from either or both of the following controls: Page Background and Document Text.
Go to the Edit from the toolbar and choose the Edit Background option. Just switch to a different background to highlight the text of the PDF file. Note: If you choose the New Background option, add a darker background to your PDF file. You can also replace the original background via the Update Background option.
Select Accessibility in the Categories section. Check the box next to Replace Document Colors. Select a darker color combination from the drop-down menu next to High Contrast Color Combinations or go to Custom Color and pick a darker color for the Page Background and Document Text. When done, click OK.
