okay youamp;#39;re about to drop an index in my sequel but if youamp;#39;re not totally sure if anyone is using it anymore you can make an index invisible before you drop it that way if everything goes terribly wrong you can turn it back on right away letamp;#39;s take a look looking at the indexes on this users table youamp;#39;ll see we have one on email and one on last name scroll all the way to the right youamp;#39;ll see that both of them are visible to make the last name index invisible we alter the table alter the index and make it invisible checking the indexes again itamp;#39;s now invisible this means that the index still exists itamp;#39;s still being maintained by my sequel but itamp;#39;s not being used in any queries so you can make an index invisible and if everything goes terribly wrong you can make it visible again super quick instead of having to rebuild an entire index see ya
