Using the xcolor Package xcolor is the extended color package for use in LaTeX documents. In addition to the commands and support from the color package, xcolor offers features like color tints, shades, tones, and complements in an easy driver-independent way.
Latex-Highlighting Text In order to highlight text in latex, we need to use two packages. First we need the soul package. The command to use to highlight some text is \hl{some text that needs to be highlighted} Here is my example. It produces the following highlight in the output pdf file.
Defining Colours The colours black , white , red , green , blue , cyan , magenta , yellow should be predefined by any driver. Packages can define other colours. If you want to define colours yourself, you can use the \definecolor command.
One can use the command such as \textcolor[rgb]{1.00,0.00,0.00}{boundary} to color the word boundary in a document. How do you make a color in LaTeX? rgb : Red, Green, Blue. Three comma-separated values between 0 and 1 define the components of the colour.
\textcolor{red}{easily} : Changes the color of inline text. This command takes two parameters, the color to use and the text whose color is changed. In the example the word easily is printed in red .
To change the background color, you can use the command \pagecolor{mentioned-color}. This command colors the background of a whole page. To color the background of the text, you can use the \colorbox{mentioned-color}{text} command.
Enable colour by putting into the preamble \usepackage{xcolor}. The following, along with black and white, are the core colours. They are switched in by the command \color{name}: the scope is delimited by braces or by the current environment. One may produce colours between any of these by using !
The command \definecolor takes three parameters: the name of the new color, the model, and the color definition. Roughly speaking, each number represent how much of each color you add to the mix that makes up the final color. rgb : Red, Green, Blue.
