A good way is to take the most dark hue of your color and mix this with its complementary. Example witch is often practiced: to darken orange, take umber + ultramarine (or cobalt) blue. With this mix you can get a color near black.
For shades, multiply each component by 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, etc., of its previous value. The smaller the factor, the darker the shade. For tints, calculate (255 - previous value), multiply that by 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, etc. (the greater the factor, the lighter the tint), and add that to the previous value (assuming each.
Adding Black: This is the simplest method. Mixing a color with black reduces its brightness and intensity, resulting in a darker shade. 2. Adjusting Brightness or Lightness: In color models like RGB and HSL, you can directly adjust the brightness or lightness parameter to make the color darker.
To get a darker color the simplest way to go about it is lowering the values of R, G and B by the same proportion (ie 10%).
For Material 3, use ColorScheme. fromSeed to create a color scheme from a single seed color based on the Material 3 color system. Override the brightness property of ColorScheme. fromSeed to create a dark color scheme.
If you want to darken a color and maintain its hue, you should convert that hex to HSB (hue, saturation, brightness) rather than RGB. This way, you can adjust the brightness and it will still look like the same color without hue shifting. You can then convert that HSB back to hex. Use positives for lightening.
