Fiber Laser Settings for Aluminum If you want to use a 30W fiber laser to mark white results on aluminum, then your fiber laser marker settings need to be changed. Then you should set the power to 100%, speed to 2000mm/s, angle to 90, Freq to 55, Hatch to 1, Loop to 1, Line Space to 0.03.
Multiple Passes: Run the laser engraver over the same area multiple times. This technique deepens the engraving, making it appear darker. Ensure that the laser is precisely aligned for each pass to avoid blurring or offsetting the design. Choose the Right Wood: Some woods naturally produce darker engravings.
When looking to achieve a dark black appearance, treating wood with solutions such as water and borax or baking soda before engraving can be helpful. Other makers find that using products designed to enhance appearance after engraving is ideal.
Apply Darkening Agent: Once the engraving is complete, apply a darkening agent or ink to the engraved area. Brush or rub the agent into the engraved lines or markings, ensuring it fills all the grooves. Clean Excess Darkening Agent: Wipe off any excess darkening agent from the surface using a clean cloth or tissue.
Applying a chemical darkening solution specifically formulated to react with the metal surface is a third method. Once applied to the engraving and dried, the solution can be rinsed away, leaving just the darkened engraved sections. Finally, rubbing black ink or enamel paint into the engraving can provide dark accents.

For marking and traceability, fiber laser engravers generate a wide range of grays (from white to black) on the surface of aluminum. They are used to: Permanently mark QR codes, data matrix codes, serial numbers, and logos.
The material is usually some type of metal, but it can also be glass, wood, or plastic. The process of greyscale laser engraving is similar to traditional black and white photography. An image is first rendered in black and white, and then the laser is used to etch it into the material.
