The personal auto policy (PAP) is a standardized design for auto insurance. These policies offer coverage for liability, medical payments, damage to the vehicle and damage from uninsured/underinsured motorists.
Under the Personal Auto Policy (PAP) an insured is: 1. A resident spouse and any family members residing with the insured for the ownership, maintenance, or use of any auto or trailer. 2. Anyone driving the car with permission or a responsible belief that they are entitled to drive the car.
The PAP provides protection against legal liability, injury to the insured or members of the insureds family, and damage to or loss of the auto itself.
Your PAP policy only protects you. A BAP protects you, your business, and your employeeseven if they are in-laws.
An unendorsed PAP corresponds to the basic, standardized policy issued by an insurance company. It typically provides the broadest set of coverages that meet minimum legal requirements but may not cover all potential risks. On the other hand, an endorsed PAP involves modifications or additions to the standard policy.
This is used to extend insurance coverage to recreational vehicles, motor homes, motorcycles, motorized golf carts and other miscellaneous vehicles that are not already covered under the policy.
