ever find yourself with a bass or brand color that you need to make a darker or lighter version oh itamp;#39;s so annoying except not anymore with CSS relative color syntax check out this gooey snippet to darken any color and in this case this Indigo hex color you just need to subtract 25 from the lightness channel Iamp;#39;m going to use okl CH because that lightness channel is very reliable for tasks like lightning and darkening and look all I do is perform a calc on the L Channel and I get this nice richer dark color well if I want to lighten it Iamp;#39;m just going to add 25 and thatamp;#39;s it as comes in really handy is if you go to change these colors like if I change Indigo to a different color look at these really nice lighter and darker versions I get and all these different Hues so cool love this syntax see you on the next gooey snippet

Earning the title of darkest color thanks to its total absorption of light is none other than black. Similarly to white, black is an achromatic color (a color without a hue) and is one with a long history of use and importance that extends into modern day. The hex code for black is #000000.
/* Lighten a color */ color: mix(blue, white, 25%); /* Darken a color */ color: mix(blue, black, 25%); In this example, the mix() function takes three arguments: the base color, the light color (white for lightening, black for darkening), and the percentage of lightening or darkening.
CSS img.darker { transition: all 0.2s ease-in-out; } img.darker:hover { filter: brightness(50%); }
To change the background color when hovering with CSS, you can use the :hover psuedo-class selector. This example will change the background color of an element from #0001 to #000F when it is hovered. For more information on psuedo-classes and hover effects, you can read here.

This is the only rule you must adhere to. When you hover over an item, you want to make it stand out (or pop) from the rest of the clutter. To make the button stand out on a white background, use a darker color for the text.
