Whats the difference between AFP and PDF? While PDF has its origins in the graphic arts and ubiquitous desktop viewing, the emphasis for AFP is very high speed variable data printing.
Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) is the original, integrated data stream on IBM i for generating fully composed pages of data. Traditional line-mode print applications compose a line at a time down the page (typically continuous form pages), whereas AFP composes the entire page before printing.
The alpha fetoprotein test (AFP) is a blood test performed to measure, diagnose, or monitor fetal distress or fetal abnormalities. It can also detect some liver disorders and some cancers in adults.
Advanced Function Presentation (AFP ) is a collection of programs to extend the capabilities of printers. The programs are used in conjunction with IBM s all-points-addressable (APA) printers. AFP allows users to place data not just at the line and character positions, but at any addressable point on the page.
AFP Format (AFP/PTOCA/MODCA/IM1) AFP (Advanced Function Presentation) format is part of IBMs document imaging system. It is a raster format, created to add enhanced formatting and indexing capabilities to documents for print applications in finance, retail, insurance and other industries.
Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) AFP is a network file control protocol system specifically designed for Mac-based platforms. AFP is common for faster networks where large files need to be transferred the norm in graphics/print/video environments where Macs are commonly used.
Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) applications can generate Advanced Function Printing data stream (AFPDS), line, or mixed (AFPDS and line) spooled files. These applications can run on IBM i or on other platforms. IBM i can receive spooled files from other operating systems.
