A diploma course, however, offers a more in-depth study as compared to a certificate course. Most of the diploma courses are professional and job-based, and offer training to prepare the candidate for a similar job or professional role.
Regular diploma programs require you to complete two years (four semesters) of study while advanced diploma programs require you to complete three years (six semesters) of study. Certificate programs are a good way to explore an industry or career direction and are only one year (two semesters) in length.
A certificate may be desirable if youre trying to earn a promotion or change careers. A degree may be a requirement for some positions, including accounting or nursing. Depending on the career, employers may have specific degree requirements. A diploma prepares students for hands-on careers.
Once you have completed and passed the required courses in a certificate, and your final grades are available in your My Access student account, please submit a Certificate Request Form to receive your certificate. Didnt find what you were looking for?
A Diploma is a nationally recognised educational qualification located at Level 5 of the AQF. This means that its a step above Certificate IV (Level 4) and a step below an Advanced Diploma (Level 6). Studying a diploma equips you with specialised knowledge and skills in a specified field or profession.
A Certification of Degree is a signed and sealed document printed on letterhead stating your name of record, degree conferred, and date of graduation.
Strictly speaking, earning a diploma means that a student has met the requirements for graduation, and earning a certificate of completion means the student has finished high school without completing all the requirements.
Degree Requirements: You must complete a minimum of 20.0 credits, comprised of your program requirements, electives and breadth requirements, as well as a minimum CGPA, to be eligible for graduation.
