I think one of the most damaging mythologyamp;#39;s in the fashion industry is that leather is just a byproduct that it would otherwise be thrown away that theyamp;#39;re making use of waste and a lot of people cling to this idea of thinking that thatamp;#39;s a justification for what happens to cows and sadly thatamp;#39;s just not the case leather is so valuable that without it a lot of these businesses would go under that it is them to meet what makes them the money itamp;#39;s the leather so we have to kind of turn that idea on its head and say no leather isnamp;#39;t a byproduct of meat meat is a byproduct of leather the ethical side of why we donamp;#39;t use leather is something that I feel very strongly about itamp;#39;s not necessary to harm cows or pigs or goats or alligators and these animals that are killed for their skin for an aesthetic object itamp;#39;s truly a travesty and there are animals that are raised specifically for their skin when it comes to cows that

Your saddle should be regularly cleaned, using glycerin saddle soap and a damp cloth or sponge to remove dirt, which may otherwise scratch the surface. Importance of regular maintenance. Top: regular maintenance with balsam applied to the saddle after every 20 000 rubs with a stirrup leather, for 125 000 rubs in total.
OILING YOUR LEATHER SADDLE We use and recommend Oakwood Leather Oil, or Joseph Lyddy Neatsfoot Oil. Ensure the saddle is clean and dry. Apply the oil all over the saddle, use a clean paint brush to cover hard-to-docHub areas, and a soft cloth or sponge for the larger areas.
Shoe Polish is ok but it is going to smell and plus the seat will not soak it properly and leave traces on your pants. I use a glove oil You can find one in any sports shop just look for oil which is used to soften the Baseball gloves.
Liberally apply a wax-based balsam over the leather, work it into the leather and allow to absorb into the leather overnight. Use a soft cloth to buff away any excess remaining on the surface of the leather the next morning.
We always recommend carefully oiling your leather tack but if you realise youve applied too much and the leather has absorbed all it can, rinse your saddle with hot water, apply soap and rinse it again in clean water. Then leave it to dry for 24 hours and apply some conditioner.
For synthetic leather saddles, use warm water mixed with a gentle soap. If you find thick, stuck-on dirt, you can use a soft brush and warm water to remove it. Make sure you rinse thoroughly and allow the saddle to dry in the sun.
You want to use only products specifically meant for cleaning leather tack. After every ride, you should wipe down all leather equipment and then periodically give it a thorough cleaning. We like a liquid glycerin-based saddle soap to remove mud and grime.
