Go to Edit Preferences, and click Accessibility from the available drop-down options in the Categories section. You can also use the Ctrl + K shortcut for the same. Check the box next to Replace Document Colors. Choose High-Contrast Colors, and select the one you want from the list of available drop-down options.
A good way is to take the most dark hue of your color and mix this with its complementary. Example witch is often practiced: to darken orange, take umber + ultramarine (or cobalt) blue. With this mix you can get a color near black.
Click the Fill color or Stroke color in the Properties panel and click the Color Mixer option at the top of the panel to show a single tint (T) slider. Drag the slider to the left to make the color lighter.
Open the image in Krita, right click in the layer, chose Add filter mask. A dialog will appear, there select HSV/HSL adjustment and then play around with the Hue slider.
By pressing the K key, Krita will darken the colorand it will get darker if you press the key again.
Burn and Dodge tool To use these tools, simply select the tool you want to use, then set the brush you want to use and the range (Midtones, Shadows or Highlights) from the options bar. You can also change the exposure of the tool. Once youve set these, you simply brush over the area you want to lighten or darken.
Adding Black: This is the simplest method. Mixing a color with black reduces its brightness and intensity, resulting in a darker shade. 2. Adjusting Brightness or Lightness: In color models like RGB and HSL, you can directly adjust the brightness or lightness parameter to make the color darker.
If the scanned lineart is light you can slide the black handle in the input levels to the right to make it darker or if you want to remove the gray areas you can slide the white handle to the left. Auto levels is a quick way to adjust tone of an image.
