All I need to do is use the Context menu which I can get to with a two finger click on my trackpad or by Control clicking on a file and then I get the option to Compress. So look for the option Compress and the name of the file. If I select that I will get the same file there but with dot zip after it. You can see it has compressed it some. So 187 KB to 137 KB.
