okay were going outside of word just a little bit what I mean is that if youve ever scanned in a document and it turns into an image and you would like the text on that document so you dont have to retype in the text after you scanned it in you convert that using Microsoft Office document imaging to extract the text from that scanned in document image for example on my desktop I have my business fax which is a document that I scanned in and you can just barely see it has the extension dot TI f @ TIFF file just means its an image file Im gonna go right click on it and go to open with and I want to open it with Windows Photo Gallery so I can show you what the image looks like and Ill come down here at the bottom and click on the magnifying glass and zoom in and you can see its a scanned in image of a document I can leave it like this or if you have a lot of documents that you dont have to after you scan in you dont want to retype it you want to use the text within it you can co

Ctrl+W Close the currently open document. Ctrl+X Cut selected text. Ctrl+Y Redo the last action performed. Ctrl+Z Undo last action.
Word automatically breaks the text at a space or a hyphen at the end of a line. To keep two words or a hyphenated word together on one line, you can use a nonbreaking space or nonbreaking hyphen instead of a regular space or hyphen. Click where you want to insert the nonbreaking space.
Cut and Paste Select the text you want to cut. Click the Cut button on the Home tab. Press Ctrl + X to cut. Click where you want to paste the text.
How to Insert dividers in Word? Click the hyphen two or more times then press the enter button. This will give you a full-width divider as a thin continuous line. Click asterisk thrice(***) and enter the key if you want a dotted line. Use three underscores() and enter a key to form a divider with a medium thickness.

The Cut function removes the currently selected text and places it on the clipboard. The clipboard on a computer functions as temporary storage for the last item youve cut or copied. After you cut text, you wont see it on your screen, but you can place it anywhere in the document using the Paste function.
