Pulmonary edema refers to the buildup of fluid in the lungs including the airways like the alveoli - which are the tiny air sacs - as well as in the interstitium, which is the lung tissue thats sandwiched between the alveoli and the capillaries. This space is mostly full of proteins, and when it starts filling up with fluid, it can make it hard for oxygen to cross over from the alveoli into the capillary, leaving the body hypoxic - or deprived of oxygen. To understand pulmonary edema, lets first talk about the three main factors that determine how fluid moves between the capillaries and interstitial fluid, which are the hydrostatic pressure, oncotic pressure and capillary permeability. Hydrostatic pressure refers to the pressure felt by fluid in a confined space, pushing the fluid out of that space. In the interstitial space, its the same thing as the blood pressure in the pulmonary capillaries, and because the pulmonary circulation is a low pressure system, the hydrostatic pressur

Coronary artery disease is the most common form of heart disease and the most common cause of heart failure. The disease results from the buildup of fatty deposits in the arteries, which reduces blood flow and can lead to heart attack.
Carotid-cavernous fistula (CCF) is an abnormal connection between the carotid artery and/or its branches and a large vein called the cavernous sinus. The cavernous sinus is located behind the eye and receives blood from brain, orbit, and pituitary gland.
It can severely limit the activities youre able to do and is often eventually fatal. But its very difficult to tell how the condition will progress on an individual basis. Its very unpredictable. Lots of people remain stable for many years, while in some cases it may get worse quickly.
Symptoms of heart failure include: Shortness of breath. Feeling tired (fatigue) and having leg weakness when youre active. Swelling in your ankles, legs and abdomen. Weight gain. Need to urinate while resting at night. Rapid or irregular heartbeats (palpitations). A dry, hacking cough.

Assess vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and hemodynamic measurements. HF patients benefit from continuous cardiac monitoring via telemetry. The nurse can then act quickly if a dysrhythmia is observed. Blood pressure, pulse rate, and oxygen saturation should also be assessed regularly for changes.
The symptoms of heart failure depend on which side of your heart is affected and how serious your condition has become. Most symptoms are caused by reduced blood flow to your organs and fluid buildup in your body. Fluid buildup happens because the flow of blood through your heart is too slow.
Tests needed to assess CCF include x rays, echocardiography, ECG, coronary angiography and others. Treatment for CCF includes treatment of the underlying cause of CCF, as well as the symptoms. This can include any of the treatments in this list: medicines.
Proper treatment can improve the signs and symptoms of heart failure and may help some people live longer. Lifestyle changes such as losing weight, exercising, reducing salt (sodium) in your diet and managing stress can improve your quality of life. However, heart failure can be life-threatening.
The credit conversion factor (CCF) converts the amount of a free credit line and other off-balance-sheet transactions (with the exception of derivatives) to an EAD (exposure at default) amount. This function is used to calculate the exposure at default.
