in this video were going to talk about how to express negative numbers in binary using the sine magnitude method and the twos complement method and later in this video were going to talk about how to add and subtract binary numbers using the twos complements so lets say if we want to write negative six as a number how would we do that so were going to start with the sine magnitude method in order to express negative six first we need to find out what six is and were going to use a four bit binary to do so so 2 to the n minus 1 thats going to be 2 to the 4 minus 1 which is 2 to the 3 and thats 8. so this is going to be 8 4 2 and 1. so first lets express six as a binary number six is four plus two so were going to put a one in the column under four and two and were gonna put a zero everywhere else so that would be positive six in sign magnitude the first three numbers corresponds to the magnitude of the number six the last number zero this corresponds to the sign so if the l

The truncate() method resizes the file to the given number of bytes. If the size is not specified, the current position will be used.
In computers, the two symbols used for binary code are 0 and 1, usually grouped in a specific sequence to represent information. Each 0 or 1 is called a bit, and different computers use different numbers of bits at a time.
The sign of the binary number is determined by the leading (furthest left) digit. If it is a 1, then it is negative, and the magnitude, or absolute value, can be found by flipping all 1s to 0s and 0s to 1s. If it is a leading 0, then treat it like a normal binary number.
The process to encode the number x in truncated binary is: if x is less than u, encode it in k binary bits; if x is greater than or equal to u, encode the value x + u in k + 1 binary bits.
We can truncate the number by using the following steps: Move the decimal of the specified number (n) to the given decimal place (dp) by multiplying the number 10dp. Determine the floor value of the resultant value (that we get from step 1). Divide the floor value by 10dp.
To truncate a number, we miss off digits past a certain point in the number, filling-in zeros if necessary to make the truncated number approximately the same size as the original number. To truncate a number to 1 decimal place, miss off all the digits after the first decimal place.
Signed bit Representation The MSB (Most docHub Bit) represents the sign of the Integer. Magnitude is represented by other bits other than MSB i.e. (n-1) bits where n is the no. If the number is positive, MSB is 0 else 1.
trunc() method returns the truncated integer part of a number. Note: This method will NOT round the number up/down to the nearest integer, but simply remove the decimals.
A signed integer is a 32-bit datum that encodes an integer in the range [-2147483648 to 2147483647]. An unsigned integer is a 32-bit datum that encodes a nonnegative integer in the range [0 to 4294967295]. The signed integer is represented in twos complement notation.
Since it is positive number, consider the sign bit as zero, which is placed on left most side of magnitude. Therefore, the signed binary representation of positive decimal number +108 is 𝟎𝟏𝟏𝟎𝟏𝟏𝟎𝟎.
