so lets go over how you can easily cut a shape using docHub Illustrator this is accomplished using the knife tool which is located over here in your toolbar just beneath the Eraser tool just hold a click over that tool and you should see this little fly out menu and you can come down here to where it says knife and click on that and now you have the knife tool selected and all you have to do to cut your shape now is just draw a line going through your shape like that and as you can see it slices it into different pieces as you can see there now I have a stroke applied to my shape so you can see where the cut lines are and how it breaks it apart into different pieces let me show you a different way that you can use this tool normally when you click to draw like this it creates a curved freehand line if you want to draw with a straight line all you have to do is hold the ALT key and then click and drag and as you can see there it creates a nice straight line just like that and if you wa
