hey everyone Matt brunig here youve probably heard some of this in the news and youre going to hear a lot more of it uh coming up soon but um theres going to be a big push to make changes to Social Security and Medicare sometimes called our old age entitlement programs the proximate reason theres no real proximate reason for this push but because Republicans now control the house they can hold various things hostage including the debt limit including budgets and as part of holding that hostage it seems like they want to try to cut Social Security and Medicare and in doing so the main thing that you hear a lot about it is that they want to change the that they want to increase their retirement age um so lets look here in the Washington Post this was from a couple days ago their plan would raise Medicare eligibility to age 67 while allowing for more private sector plans while lifting Social Security to age 70 for younger workers and changing the way benefits are calculated thats a
