How to remove stains from faux leather Make a mixture of equal parts water and vinegar. Take a clean cloth and blot the stain with the vinegar solution. Repeat (turning to a clean part of the cloth as you do) until the stain has gone.
To repair the shoes, just clean the scuffed marks with a dampened cloth then air-dry. Apply a small amount of Modge Podge on the damaged spot using a paint brush. Wait until the product is completely dry and thats it.
For minor scratches, use things like petroleum jelly, white vinegar, or recoloring balm to fix the leather. If your shoe has a deeper scratch, fill it in using a leather cream polish thats the same color as your leather shoes.
Start by sanding off all of the peeling bits of faux leather with 180-grit sandpaper so youre left with a smooth surface. Fill in the cracks with a permanent marker that closely matches the color of your shoes. Then rub shoe polish that matches the color of your shoes over the peeling area and let it dry.
Yes, your boots can be fixed. Our repair dept. at Boyers Bootnshoe, can successfully buff out most scuffs, scrapes, and gouges. How much can be removed depends on several things, the color of the leather, how soft the leather is, and how deep the damage is.
Take a small dab of distilled white vinegar on a paper towel and apply it to an area around the scratch. The vinegar may cause the area to slightly swell. The faux leather will cover some of the scratches. The vinegar will also remove any stains like salt, cleaning the area.

While minor scratches and marks may be polished out with appropriate patent leather cleaning products, any docHub damage to patent leather is difficult to restore. The difficulties with restoring patent leather shoes are primary due to the coated finish.
