[Music] in this video well be taking a look at some slightly more unusual modulation and were going to be modulating the sample start point of this sample that ive got loaded so let me just play this to you [Music] so you can see theres a lot of material to work with if were modulating the sample start point so the first thing im going to do is youll notice that ive got this arpeggiator loaded so let me just activate this ive got it playing 16th notes so what ive done is ive got a midi note in here just drawn in but this arpeggiator will trigger it at 16th note intervals [Laughter] and you can already hear this has had a kind of choppy effect on it and what im going to do by modulating the sample start point is that every 16th note as dictated by the arpeggiator is going to trigger a different point in the sample and this will create a choppy melody reminiscent of artists such as forte and bonobo so thats the kind of sound were aiming for so lets get into the modulation
