You must be patient in the beginning by allowing your wounds and scabs to heal before doing anything to your hair. Although the transplanted hair in the recipient area should grow out completely in about 12 months, haircuts and styling products are acceptable only 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure.
The answer is Yes! But, the skin on your scalp will be much more sensitive for the first six months, so its better to wait until everything has settled down. Discuss this with your stylist first and tell them that youve had a transplant as they may be able to suggest chemicals that will be gentler on your scalp.
If your wounds havent healed completely, theres a risk that non-sterile implements like hair clippers or scissors can cause hair transplant infection. While most infections are short-lived, they can impede your recovery time and even damage the success of your hair transplant.
Providing your scalp has healed correctly, the risk of dislodging your transplanted hair grafts is minimal. Therefore, you can opt for any hairstyle you choose.
This is not only because the procedure tires your body out, but because resting helps speed up your recovery. There are certain things that should be avoided during these few days as they provide a risk post hair transplant, such as swimming, drinking alcohol, smoking, high-impact exercise and more.
You need 7 to 14 days to recover from the beard transplant procedure. After 14 days, you can resume your normal activities. After 3 weeks, you can start to shave or trim your new beard. After two to three weeks, the new beard hairs may start to shed and fall out.
Can I shave my hair after a transplant? You can shave the implanted grafts after 6 months of regrowth. Before this period, it is possible to trim your new hair with scissors. On the other hand, the donor area can be trimmed after 1 month, in order to better harmonize the level of regrowth on your entire head.
Using clippers anywhere outside the transplant area is safe once your scabs are gone. However, you should wait a little bit longer for the transplanted area to allow your newly transplanted hair to settle in securely. This might take anywhere between 2-3 months before using clippers on your transplanted hair.
