- [Jennifer] Hi there and welcome. This is Jennifer and I am so glad youre here today. Today I will be sharing with you a really fun technique with alcohol inks that I call background alcohol ink lifting. This is a really fun way to get new looks from your alcohol inks and your background stamps. In fact, you could use this with regular stamps too if you wanted. I will first start out by showing you a bunch of backgrounds created with this technique, including the new alcohol ink products that are out. And then I will share some tips from turning a lot of these different types of backgrounds into cards. So lets first start out by creating our backgrounds. I will be using the new colors of Tim Holtzs alcohol inks today. If you have the older colors of alcohol inks or the alcohol ink pearls, you could definitely use those. A common illegal liquor practice is diluting the spirits. This is easier to accomplish than most of the other practices used by bars to defraud the customer. Diluting the spirits can be done in various degrees depending on the excess profit that the bar is looking to make off on suspecting consumers.
Taking cuts refers to the process where spirit is collected in small portions of similar sizes during distillation as opposed to allowing the distillate to collect in just one large vessel.
Someone who drinks their scotch or vodka neat will be able to tell instantly, because the flavor is diminished. If they are drinking shots of straight liquor, they probably wont be able to tell, because no one does shots of hard liquor for the taste.
Its actually straight-up ancient. Just a quick refresher for the uninitiated: pouring one out refers to the act of pouring liquid (usually an alcoholic beverage) on the ground as a sign of reverence for friends or relatives that have passed away.
It means that you have had too much to drink and you are visibly intoxicated. They are not allowed to continue to serve you under these circumstances.
How to take a liquor inventory Follow a consistent method. Set a dedicated time for inventory counting. Keep a record of inventory received since last count. Count inventory at the front bar. Use the tenthing counting method. Repeat inventory for back bar and storage. Calculate the final numbers.
Weigh the Bottle: Place the open bottle on the scale. Record the Results: Takedown the weight of each bottle as you weigh them. Keep a spreadsheet or use inventory management software to maintain an organized and easily accessible record of your stock levels.
How is restaurant and bar inventory usage calculated? Inventory usage is calculated with a fairly straightforward formula: Opening inventory + purchases received - closing inventory = inventory usage.
