Hi, Im Carl from Microsoft Store. And today Im going to show you how to add page numbers to your Microsoft Word documents, no matter how many pages there are. In Word with your document open, go to the ribbon and select Insert, then Page Number. From the drop-down menu, select where you would like them to appear for example, the bottom of each page. Then select the style you want to use. Every option will add numbers to each page in one form or another. If you have a cover page and you dont want it numbered, there are two more things you need to do. First, you need to number your cover page as page 0. To do this, make sure youre in the Header and Footer tab, select Page Number, then Format Page Numbers. Under Page numbering, select Start at, type in the number 0, and select OK. Second, you need to make sure the footer for the first page is different from the rest. All you need to do is check the box next to Different First Page. Now you can select Clos

Open the Header Footer Tools by double-clicking inside the header or footer area. Select Design Page Number Format Page Numbers. Set Start at to 0 and select OK.
Modifying page numbers with section breaks Place your cursor on the page where you want the first section to end. Go to the Page Layout tab, then click the Breaks command. Choose Next Page from the menu. A section break will be added, creating a new section on the next page.
Go to Insert Page Number, and then choose Remove Page Numbers. If the Remove Page Numbers button isnt available or if some page numbers are still there, double-click in the header or footer, select the page number, and press Delete.
Remove first-page numbering from Word files. Launch Word and open your document. Select the Insert tab in the top toolbar. Select Page Number in the Header Footer section. Select a page numbering style from the drop-down menus. Double-click on the first page number and tick the Different First Page box.
Select Insert Page Number, and then choose the location and style you want. If you dont want a page number to appear on the first page, select Different First Page. If you want numbering to start with 1 on the second page, go to Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at to 0.
Remove page number from selected pages in Word Step 2:- Navigate to Page Layout menu then click the Break menu option under Page Setup section. Step 3 :- Select Next Page from the Breaks menu drop down list. Step 4 :- Then double click the Footer of the new page section.
