From 1986 to 1995, Kikuchi composed 23 different packages of music for the original Japanese versions of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, resulting in over 500 different pieces of music. The vast majority of his cues have not been released on CD.
If you are craving the epic Bruce Faulconer experience have no fear, his score enters the set in episode 68 of season two and continues through the rest of the series.
Faulconer began writing music for the English language version of Dragon Ball Z in 1998, and his score premiered on Cartoon Network in Dragon Ball Z season 3 in September 1999.
Main Title, usually referred to as Rock the Dragon, is the theme song heard for the Funimation/Saban dub of Dragon Ball Z episodes 1-53, as well as for the original Funimation in-house dub of episodes 54-92. The song appeared on the 1997 album Dragon Ball Z: Original USA Television Soundtrack.
Dragon Ball Z Commissioned by FUNimation, his first episodes were Episode 67/68 of season 3 in 1999 and ended with Episode 291 in 2003. In finding inspiration for composing for the series, Faulconer has stated: I would watch episodes and keep in mind what music would fit the mood.
Shunsuke Kikuchi composed the score for Dragon Ball Z. The opening theme for the first 199 episodes is Cha-La Head-Cha-La performed by Hironobu Kageyama. The second opening theme used up until the series finale at episode 291 is We Gotta Power also performed by Kageyama.
Synopsis: The original Dragon Ball series, with as much of the filler removed as possible. For the purposes of this edit, filler refers to anything that wasnt in the original comics written by Akira Toriyama. Therefore, this edit attempts to follow the original comics as closely as possible.
The first two seasons were so heavily edited for content that the original 67 episodes were edited down to 53 episodes. Thus, the first 53 episodes of the series by the Saban/Ocean dub were considered to be the edited or cut episodes.
