In poker, Texture refers to the description of how the community cards (flop, turn, and river) look and feel in terms of connectivity, suits, and ranks. The texture of the board can range from dry (unconnected and unsuited cards) to wet (connected and suited cards).
The slightly unusual terms all refer to seating positions determined in relation to the dealer. The player immediately to the dealers right is the cutoff. The player one further seat around is the hijack. And the player to the hijacks right is in the lojack.
As mentioned, the cutoff is one of pokers late positions, meaning the player in the cutoff is one of the last to act pre-flop, with only the button, small blind and big blind behind them.
In poker, Cutoff refers to the position directly to the right of the dealer or button. It is the second-best position in a hand of poker, as the player in the cutoff position acts second to last and has the advantage of seeing most of the other players actions before deciding their own.
In poker, the Cutoff is a term used to describe the position immediately to the right of the dealer or button. This term is used across all poker variants, including Texas Holdem, Omaha, and others, and applies to both cash games and tournaments.
Back in the old days, some games had a player cut the deck as part of the shuffling process. This position at the table, directly to the right of the button, was the one used to cut the cards after the shuffle. The spot right before the cutoff is called the hijack, earning its name in a similar fashion.
