Got questions?

Below are some common questions from our customers that may provide you with the answer you're looking for. If you can't find an answer to your question, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Right-click the rich text box for which you want to enable or disable full rich-text formatting, and then click Rich Text Box Properties on the shortcut menu. Click the Display tab. To enable full rich-text formatting for the selected rich text box, select the Full rich text (images, tables, etc.)
You cant store Rich Text in Access web apps. Short Text In Access web apps the Short Text field is set to store 255 characters by default, but you can adjust the Character Limit property all the way up to 4000 characters.
The Text data type is used for short text fields of limited length, and can contain up to 255 characters. A Memo field is a virtually unlimited text field.
In Access, when you link to an Excel spreadsheet that contains more than 255 characters, the column of the Excel spreadsheet is mapped to the formatted Memo data type. Because Access treats the formatted Memo field as a text field that has a 255-character limit, you can view only 255 characters.
Change a field to rich text Open the table that contains the field in Design View. In the table design grid, click the Long Text field that you want to change to rich text. Under Field Properties, click the General tab. Click the Text Format box and select Rich Text. Save your changes.
The key difference between short text and long text data type is that the former can hold up to 255 characters while the latter can store up to 65,536 characters. The length of a field with this data type is limited to 255 characters, which is determined by field size.
The Long Text data type has both custom and Rich Text formatting. If you dont specify a format, Access left aligns all text in datasheets. Typically, you apply custom formats to Short Text and Long Text data types to make the table data easier to read.
