this is my go-to for cleaning my dirty stained cutting boards it starts with a sprinkling of baking soda then youamp;#39;re going to sprinkle on some vinegar and let that Sizzle end bubble from there youamp;#39;ll let it sit for a couple of minutes and then you can take a towel and rub in circles to really dig into the different stains that might be on your cutting board youamp;#39;re going to want a little paste to form probably soak up some of that vinegar let that sit for another couple minutes and then rinse it off after I have rinsed it off I go through one more time with my Euro scrubby and then rinse one final time and I have the perfect clean wooden cutting board

Simply use a lint-free rag soaked in mineral spirits or paint thinner to rub the areas of over-applicationwherever the stain has puddled or is thick and stickyto remove the excess stain. Areas of over-application may be noticeable because the stain is darker.
To get rid of the excess stain now, take a cloth dampened with mineral spirits and use that to scrub down the piece. This should remove the excess stain. Alternatively, apply another coat of stain, wait a couple of minutes for it to soften up the old, tacky, excess stain, then take a cloth and rub away the excess.
Mix a teaspoon of salt with several drops of water and apply onto the wood stain in a gentle, circular motion. Wipe off the residue with a damp cloth, and youre done. Dab a little car wax on more stubborn stains using your finger to trace the water ring.
Can wood stain be removed without sanding? Wood stain remover should remove most, if not all, of that wood stain on its own. While sanding can be a great final step, especially if youre planning to paint or restrain the wood, it isnt always required.
Choose a Chemical Stripper. A chemical stripper loosens wood stain to make it easier to remove. Prepare Your Work Space. Choose where to complete your project. Prep the Piece. Look at the Wood. Apply the Wood Stain Remover. Remove Large Sections of Stain. Remove Lingering Traces. Sand the Surface.
Basic Rules for Stain Removal The quicker, the better. Identify or try to identify both the staining agent and the stained surface before you begin treatment. Remove as much as possible of the staining agent before treating with a stain-removal product. Handle stained items gently. Avoid using heat.
