Why is my signature trimmed in Gmail? Trimming is standard Gmail behavior. Your signature is always visible in the first message but remains hidden in replies. Trimming (hiding) repeated content supports clarity and brevity of e-mail conversations.
This happens when your email signature has over 10,000 characters in the HTML code and is copied using the Chrome or Edge browser. Our internal investigation shows that this occurs after the signature is copied using the Chrome or Edge browser, and users get this error message in Gmail.
Tips to prevent or mitigate email clipping Use fewer images. Shorten the email. Optimize links. Use padding to create white space, not line breaks and spacers. Keep an eye out for excess code when pasting content. Test an HTML minifier tool. Make a more prominent View in Browser option.
When Gmail sees the same text go out twice, it assumes that the recipient wants that data removed. In their effort to keep emails clean, they sometimes do professionals a disservice. By cutting off duplicate text, they remove email signatures that include important contact information!
If Gmail receives multiple emails with the same subject line, it will group them into one email, known as a thread. Often when this happens, your email will be clipped as the message will have become too large. If your contacts are receiving this email for the first time, this type of clipping shouldnt occur.
To resolve this issue: Click the outer blue line. From the right-hand side, Properties pane, you will see that the Font section is expanded, and by default, the Font Size is set to 11 pt. Example: We recommend: Set a Line Height value on the signature 2pts larger than the font size used.
To remove the entire history, From the reply, press the down arrow on your keyboard and then press Delete. This will highlight the Trimmed Content icon and remove it so that your reply will not have history included.
When replying to an email message in Google Mail, history or email string is automatically included. The. or Trimmed content icon contains the history of the email message. You can click on it to see what is Trimmed. You may or may not want to send this along with your response.
