Some versions of Gmail dont support formatting options, such as bold or italics. Formatted text in these Gmail versions can result in extra characters in your signature. To remove the extra characters, remove the formatting from your signature: Open Gmail.
When Gmail sees the same text go out twice, it assumes that the recipient wants that data removed. In their effort to keep emails clean, they sometimes do professionals a disservice.
