Heres a simple formula in Excel to remove spaces before and after the words in a cell: =TRIM(B1) Apply this formula to all cells in Column B by dragging the bottom right corner of the cell down. This will remove all spaces before and after the words in each cell.
Use the TRIM function The TRIM function allows you to remove all spaces except for single spaces between text in the document. It helps you find hidden spaces within your document, such as leading, trailing and extra spaces, which can be difficult to identify at first glance.
Find the Trim Spaces button (this is usually located on the Ablebits Data tab) and choose the option that best describes the space you wish to delete. For example, there are Remove leading and trailing spaces, Trim extra spaces between words to one and Delete non-breaking spaces.
The TRIM function can get rid of white spaces, but it cannot eliminate non-printing characters. Technically, Excel TRIM is designed to only delete value 32 in the 7-bit ASCII system, which is the space character. To remove spaces and non-printing characters in a string, use TRIM in combination with the CLEAN function.
After selecting the cells, press CTRL+1 and select Fill option from Horizontal drop down menu under the Alignment section. 3. Once you select the fill option and hit OK, the overflow text will hide.
