With graphics or printing, portrait mode is the orientation of the page that prints the image vertically across the page instead of horizontally. By default, all programs have the page orientation and printer pages set up in portrait mode.
Select Start Settings System Display, and choose a screen orientation from the drop-down list labelled Orientation.
To flip your computer screen upside down use the following shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + Down arrow. To flip it back to the normal position press Ctrl + Alt + Up arrow. You can also rotate your screen sideways by using the left and right arrows instead of the up and down arrows.
If you change your mind about your rotated screen or if your screen was rotated by mistake dont panic! It is easy to fix a sideways screen. Just right-click on your computers Desktop, select Display settings, scroll down to Display orientation, and select Landscape from the drop-down menu. Problem solved!
Portrait orientation is vertical, with the height being greater than the width, and is commonly used for reading documents or viewing mobile content. Landscape orientation is horizontal, with the width greater than the height, often used for panoramic views, gaming, or watching videos.
In photography, portrait orientation refers to the vertical positioning of the camera or image, where the height of the frame is greater than its width. This orientation is often used for capturing subjects like people or objects, typically portraying them in a vertical alignment and emphasizing their height.
Portrait mode is a feature found in the camera settings of many modern smartphones. It allows you to take photos with a sharp focus on the subject while the background is blurred. This effect, known as bokeh, gives your photos a professional quality by highlighting the subject of the photo.
Arms and legs can act as leading lines for viewers that they follow out to the edge of the frame. Cropping at ankles, wrists, and foreheads is often too abrupt a cut-off for viewers. It is generally more acceptable to crop mid-thigh for 3/4th length portraits or at the waist/above the elbow for half length portraits.
