well hey again everyone itamp;#39;s rob reiter and itamp;#39;s wednesday july 13th 2022 and before you pay request payees form w-9 iamp;#39;m speaking of the form w-9 which is my title request for taxpayer identification number and certification and weamp;#39;re going to talk about why you want to do that right so uh whoamp;#39;s a payee though well the payee is anyone required to provide a taxpayer identification number to the requester right so weamp;#39;re the requester they want us to pay we want their taxpayer identification number because at the end of the day we are supposed to then file a 1099 or some other information form right class 5 forms are gift and estate tax and like information forms right and thatamp;#39;s what all 1099s are itamp;#39;s like a 1099 misc miscellaneous something like that weamp;#39;re supposed to file with the irs to show that we paid these people and the um form w9 is supposed to show us if they are exempt from having backup withholding taxes
