Hey guys Matt here with Outbound Lighting and the new DETOUR road light to talk to you about what a cut off line is. So a cut off line is basically the imaginary line where the light is cut off from going above, what this means is it means that you can basically aim your light horizontally for the brightest part of your light down the road where we actually want to see without blinding oncoming pedestrians, car drivers and other bike riders. When you compare that to a traditional bike light, weamp;#39;ve got a circular beam pattern hotspot right in the center. You have to aim the light way down so you are not going above the cut off line, which means that when itamp;#39;s put down on the bike and aimed down, youamp;#39;re lighting up everything immediately in front of you rather than where you actually want to be looking, which is further down the road. So, hopefully this is just a quick primer on the difference between outbound lighting cut off lines and a traditional bike light. H
