Single-slash\multi-slash headers are often used when you are creating an Excel table. It is easy to add a slash by right clicking a table cell, using Format Cells, and adding a single slash or using Insert - Shape - Line to manually add multiple slashed.
Select the cells, rows, or columns that you want to delete. Right-click, and then select the appropriate delete option, for example, Delete Cells Shift Up, Delete Cells Shift Left, Delete Rows, or Delete Columns.
When you have a spreadsheet formatted to print, page breaks are represented horizontally by lines. In the current version of Excel for Office 365, a manually added page break shows as a solid horizontal line, while automatically generated page breaks show as dotted lines.
The easiest and quickest way to remove dotted lines due to page breaks in Excel is by closing and reopening the sheet. If you dont want to close the sheet, navigate to File OptionsAdvanced. Under Display options for this worksheet, uncheck the checkbox for Show Page Breaks.

To remove a horizontal one, select a cell in the row directly below it. Once you select your cell, go to the Page Layout tab. In the group labeled Page Setup, you can select the Breaks button. To remove the break you chose, select the Remove Page Break button.
Clicking on Advanced can show you several advanced options to choose. If you scroll down, you can see the heading Display options for this worksheet. One of the display options is Show Page Breaks. If a check beside the option, clicking it to uncheck it should remove the dotted lines for you.
You might want to split a cell into two smaller cells within a single column. Unfortunately, you cant do this in Excel. Instead, create a new column next to the column that has the cell you want to split and then split the cell. You can also split the contents of a cell into multiple adjacent cells.
