Click the bottom arrow in the Top text box in the Margins section. Keep clicking this arrow to decrease the value to 0 and raise the top margin. You can also type 0 in the Top text box. The Preview box displays this new margin setting.
An easy way to make texts fit within the pages of the document is to adjust the indent. For example, if the texts go beyond the right margin of your Word page, there will be a negative value for right indentation. Therefore, we can correct it by changing the value to zero.
The zoom percentage that the document is set to may cause characters to have the top or bottom portion of the screen font cut off. You can adjust the zoom percentage from 75 percent to 100 percent in most cases to correct this visually.
In Microsoft Word, automatic hyphenation is turned on by default for normal paragraphs (using the Normal style) so Word may insert hyphens and break words across lines. To stop words from splitting across lines in a paragraph or paragraphs by turning off automatic hyphenation: Select the paragraph or paragraphs.
At the left margin? Is this right-to-left text? In any case, wrapping problems of this nature are usually due to document corruption (occasionally a damaged font). If switching to a different font doesnt solve the problem, you might try using the Open and Repair option in the Open dialog.
Most desktop printers cant print to the edge of the page. To find out what the limits are for the active printer, go to Page Setup and set all the margins to zero. Youll be told that these margins are outside the printable area of the page, and Word will offer to fix them for you.
If your document is in Print Layout view and the top and bottom margins appear to be cut off, the option for hiding margins has been switched on. Heres how to switch it off: Point to the top or bottom of a page until the pointer becomes a double-pointed arrow, and then double-click.
Change the spacing between characters Select the text that you want to change. On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, and then click the Advanced tab. In the Spacing box, click Expanded or Condensed, and then specify how much space you want in the By box.
Right-click the paragraph or subhead that you want to keep with the content that follows it. In the box that opens, select Paragraph. In the Paragraph dialog box, click the Line and Page Breaks tab. In the Pagination section, select the Keep lines together check box, and click OK.
Use smaller page margins Just go to the Page Layout tab, click Margins, then select Narrow (you can also select Custom Margins for even smaller margins). Keep in mind that using very small margins may cause some text to be cut off by your printer.
