foreign managed to get great results on black slate I will show you all my steps from start to the final engraving letamp;#39;s go at first we will figure out the right distance between the lens and our material therefore I enhance one side of the Slate now move the laser above the slate and cut a straight line with very low power as you see on one point the line is very thin this is the best Focus point for our lens I will Mark the thinnest point with a pencil now use your caliper we measure now the distance from the head to the marked position now fix it with the little screw on the top you can use this now to measure always your distance to the material now I want to make sure the Slate is completely even so I measure the distance in the area where I will do my DPI test letamp;#39;s prepare the image for the DPI test open image dashar.com and click on upload click on crop and remove unnecessary area I will now resize my image change the measurement to millimeters mice late

When you Engrave a graphic, the closed area within the outline will be engraved. When you Cut a graphic, the graphic will be cut out through its outline.
Most wood can be engraved using full power no matter whether you are using a 25-watt laser or a 120-watt laser. Depending on the wattage of your laser, the best approach is to set the laser power at 100 percent and adjust the speed to obtain the desired depth.

JPEG PNG files arent quite ready for laser cutting. Lasers need artwork made up of vector paths rather than pixel based images. If you can source or export vector design files from your software then that will work out best. We currently use DXF, AI, SVG or EPS files. Choosing the right file format is crucial for top-notch laser engraving and cutting. Use vector formats like DXF, AI, or SVG for precision and detail.
Score is simply a lower power cut. It follows a defined path using lower power (or higher speed) to mark, vs. cutting thru. Engraving moves the head back and forth, side to side, either between the edges of a defined path (Vector engrave) or varying power or dot pattern based on raster/bitmap image shading.
