For the purpose of the coverage provided by this endorsement, miscellaneous type vehicle means a motor home, motorcycle or other similar type vehicle, all-terrain vehicle, dune buggy or golf cart.
A personal auto policy (PAP) refers to a standard insurance policy issued to personal drivers. The Insurance Services Office developed the PAP as a way to standardize personal insurance. PAP covers: Personal vehicles. Pickup trucks or vans that weigh less than 10,000 pounds.
Miscellaneous vehicles are typically motor homes, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles, or similar vehicles. Coverage can be provided under the personal auto policy with the use of the Miscellaneous Type Vehicle Endorsement. A description of the vehicle and desired coverages must be scheduled on the endorsement.
For example, a 50/100/25 policy would carry $50,000 worth of bodily injury liability coverage per person, $100,000 worth of bodily injury liability coverage for each accident youre involved in, and $25,000 worth of property damage coverage per accident.
An unendorsed PAP corresponds to the basic, standardized policy issued by an insurance company. It typically provides the broadest set of coverages that meet minimum legal requirements but may not cover all potential risks. On the other hand, an endorsed PAP involves modifications or additions to the standard policy.
Under the Personal Auto Policy (PAP) an insured is: 1. A resident spouse and any family members residing with the insured for the ownership, maintenance, or use of any auto or trailer. 2. Anyone driving the car with permission or a responsible belief that they are entitled to drive the car.
The Miscellaneous-Type Vehicle Endorsement to the PAP covers motorcycles, motor homes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), dune buggies and other types of vehicles that are otherwise excluded by the policy. All of the following vehicles are eligible for coverage under the PAP EXCEPT: A) private passenger auto.
Under a Personal Auto Policy with a miscellaneous vehicle endorsement, motorcycles are typically excluded from coverage. Therefore, the correct answer is option b. Motorcycles.
