welcome to department of medicine grand rounds i hope you will accept your pinch hitter today dr armstrong is performing her civic duty as a juror and so i have the pleasure of introducing our speaker today so dr alana morris is well known to so many of us and we are very excited to hear her updates and perspectives today she joined emory in the emory clinical cardiovascular research institute in 2013. she received her undergraduate degree in biology from xavier university of louisiana and her medical degree from harvard medical school she completed her residency at brigham and womenamp;#39;s hospital in boston and subsequently she came to emory university to complete fellowships in general cardiology advanced heart failure and transplant after completion of her fellowship training she was appointed assistant professor of medicine in the division of cardiology and her clinical time is spent as the director of heart failure services at the atlanta va medical center and as faculty for e
