Serial plate must be permanently affixed to the trailer with rivets and a Georgia Law Enforcement Officer must complete Form T-22C docHubing that the serial plate has been affixed to the trailer. Submit the completed Form T-22C to your County Tag Office with: $12.00 license plate fee. Applicable Ad Valorem tax.

Transfer title and license plate must be completed within 7 days, however, penalties will apply 30 days after purchase. Title must be applied for before or at the same time as transferring the license plate.
If you decide to sell your boat/vessel, you need to: Give the Certificate of Ownership to the person who buys it. Make sure you sign the certificate on the front. Contact the DMV within five days of the sale and fill out a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (REG 138) form.

The state of Georgia does not require boats to have titles. However, all watercraft operated on public waterways in the state must have a current registration from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Some vessels, like small sailboats and boats with no motorized propulsion, are exempt.
We recommend both the buyer and seller have a copy for their records. o A Bill of Sale is not required by the DNR; however, it may be needed for tax purposes.  Sign the certificate of title.
