Including images in your LaTeX document requires adding: \usepackage{graphicx} to the beginning/preamble of your document. \includegraphics{ } command tells LaTeX to insert the image. To upload an image, click the upload button, and upload your image file.
We can now discuss the packages that we can use to draw graphs in LaTeX. The most common LaTeX package used for drawing, in general, is TikZ, which is a layer over PGF that simplifies its syntax.
To add an actual plot, the command \addplot[color=red]{log(x)}; is used. Inside the square brackets, [] , some options can be passed in; here, we set the color of the plot to red . The square brackets are mandatory, if no options are passed leave a blank space between them.
One of the simplest and most commonly used commands in TikZ is the \draw command. To draw a straight line we use this command, then we enter a starting co-ordinate, followed by two dashes before the ending co-ordinate. We then finish the statement by closing it with a semicolon.
Creating Bar Graphs in LaTex Line 1-2 we declare our document class and load the only package we need which is pgfplots. Line 3-5 we declare the various environments needed. Line 6-12 are all the details we need to create the axis on which our data will be. Line 7 gives the title of the graph.
Include the graphicx package in your LaTeX file with \usepackage{graphicx}. Use the \includegraphics command with the name of the graphic file foo without extension. By doing so each of latex and pdflatex will choose the correct version of the file to be included, i.e., latex will use foo.ps and pdflatex will use foo.
a) Formats of Graphics Supported by LaTeX eps) can be included in a LaTeX document using the graphicx package, i.e., putting \usepackage{graphics} to the beginning of the tex file. Thus, if a student starts to draw figures or graphs, the files should be created in the ps or eps forms.
