in this video im going to show you how to calculate age in google sheets using someones date of birth so the way that were going to do this is using this date difference function so this function has three parameters start date end date in the unit so there are a number of units that are accepted in this function the ones that we want to use are y which is years y m which takes the number of whole months after subtracting years and then md which takes the number of days after subtracting whole months so there are a few other accepted values in this function im not really going to cover those here but i will place a link to the blog post where i go over this in more detail in the description of the video so if you want to learn um the other ways to use the function you can click on that but these are the three that we will be using um so to use this function to calculate the age in years you can see in this example i have date of birth and i have todays date so im just gonna set
