A: CAT marks are the raw scores a candidate achieves in the exam, calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The percentile, however, is a relative ranking that indicates the percentage of test-takers who scored lower than a particular candidate.
A raw score is a single score that is derived from a test or an observation. Cumulative percentages determine placement among a group of scores. Raw scores are also known as X values and are usually not useful by themselves. Converting raw scores into cumulative percentages allows for meaningful comparisons.
A raw score is based on the number of items that were answered correctly on a test or a subtest. For example, if a subtest has 20 items and the child answered 14 of them correctly, the raw score is 14. This raw score is then converted to a standard score.
The basic score on any test is the raw score, which is simply the number of points earned. You can interpret a raw score only in terms of a particular set of test questions. Unlike raw scores, you can interpret scale scores across different sets of test questions.
A raw score is known as the original score or observation that did not get transformed yet. It can also be denoted as the x-score. The x-score needs to transform into z-score for further analysis. For example, if a student gave a test in the class and got 80 out of 100 then his 80 is the raw score data of that student.
A raw score is an unaltered measurement. For example, lets say you took a test in class and scored 85. This is a raw score, an unaltered measurement of how you did. You scored 85. A raw data set is a collection of raw scores from all the tests.
Your test score may not tell you the real grade. You can find your test score as a percentage by dividing your score by the total number of points, then multiplying by 100.
