At the start of the season, the waiver priority is the inverse of the draft order. So the #1 pick has #10 priority, the #10 pick has #1 priority, and so forth. So whoever has the highest priority gets the player. Thus, if the 2 and 3 priority put a claim on the player, the 2 priority gets him.
The normal waiver period in the NFL is 24 hours, but for the final cutdown to 53, the waiver period is shortened and ends at Noon on the following day (instead of the normal 4:00 p.m.). So, if another team wants to claim that player, they must do so by Noon on Sunday.
Players with less than four accrued NFL seasons are subject to waivers. Those with more than four accrued seasons are considered to be released and can sign with any team immediately. Players subject to waivers do not become free agents unless they go unclaimed in the waiver process.
The order of the waiver wire is usually decided by the draft order in fantasy leagues. If you drafted first, you will be at the bottom of the waiver priority. If you drafted last, you will be at the top as priority usually goes in reverse order of the draft.
FAB waiver order is determined in the same fashion as non-FAB. If you make a waiver claim and win it, you get moved to the bottom of the waiver order list.
Managers are ranked from high to low to determine who wins a waiver claim. The initial priority rank is determined by the leagues draft: Live and Autopick Drafts - The last draft position gets 1st rank. Offline Drafts - The last to register gets 1st rank.
What is the waiver claim order? For the first three weeks of the season, teams submit claims based on the draft order. The worst team in the league from last season is therefore able to put in a claim first, followed by the second-worst, and so on.
