I have always found [applicant] to be trustworthy, hard working and intelligent. When we worked on [example], [applicant] showed good communication skills and I could rely on them to take the initiative and to stay calm under pressure. For these reasons, I believe [applicant] would be ideal for the job of [role].
Valuable asset is a good recommendation phrase because it describes a person whose capabilities and skills are worth investing in. Try using the word in the conclusion of the reference letter. Example: I am positively certain she would be a valuable asset for your project as well.
Make your praise specific. For example, When X managed this task, her work was outstanding. Refer to specific tasks or projects. For example, While he worked on project X or As a member of the X team
[He is/She is/They are] honest, dependable, and incredibly hardworking. Beyond that, [he is/she is/they are] an impressive [soft skill] who is able to [result]. [His/her/their] knowledge of [specific subject] and expertise in [specific subject] was a huge advantage to our entire office.
Give a brief introduction about yourself and explain your relationship to the candidate. Keep it short, but be sure to include how you know them and why youre qualified to write this reference for them. Remember to include where you worked together and for how long.
Specific examples are important. While a list of qualities is helpful, detailed examples that support and illustrate these qualities help employers better understand how a candidate might perform in various real-life scenarios. Concise letters are best. In most cases, personal references should not exceed one page.
The closing of the letter should briefly summarize previous points and clearly state that you recommend the candidate for the position, graduate program or opportunity they are seeking. The recommendation letter should be written in language that is straightforward and to the point.
Here are five elements all personal reference letters should include: Start by explaining your relationship to the candidate. Include long youve known the candidate. Add positive personal qualities with specific examples. Close with a statement of recommendation. Offer your contact information.
