Thats because theres been a long debate about whose name is first on the wedding invite. Traditionally, its the brides first and middle name followed by the grooms full name. The brides name is usually first because the brides parents are typically the hosts and, thus, the ones paying for the event.
The envelopes for your RSVP cards should have the name(s) and address of who is handling the RSVPs on the front. This could be you and your finac, either of your parents, your wedding planner or someone in the wedding party.
Using the first, middle and last name of the groom is suggested. The exception is when a casual invitation is desired where both the bride and groom use first and last names, omitting their middle names.
Fill out only the names of those who are attending. Some cards may have an M before the line, which allows you to write in the title of Mr., Mrs., Ms., or Miss, then your name. Write the number of guests.
How To RSVP By Email You and your dates full name and titles. Whether or not you will be attending. Dinner preference (if given the option) A Thank You for the Invitation. A Sign Off.
Ideally, the RSVP by date should fall three to four weeks before your wedding. Because your wedding invitations should be mailed six to eight weeks prior to the big day, guests should generally have a window of about one month to RSVP.
You will simply state the number of people attending or not attending. But lets say two people from your home are invited and only one can attend the wedding. The guest that is accepting would fill in the blank line with their title as well as their first and last name.
Based on standard wedding invitation wording, guests names are not written on the actual invitations. You are only expected to address your loved ones by name on the outer and inner envelopes. That way, you dont need to print specific invites for every household youre sending them to.
