Using a Paper Cutter to Cut Out Printables Print out a copy of your printable. Place the printed design on your paper cutter. Align crop marks with the paper cutter guides. Cut the first side. Rotate the page and align the crop mark and page edge with the cutting edge of the paper cutter.
Go to File, then click Print, followed by Advanced Output Settings. Under Printers Marks, select Marks and Bleeds, then select the Crop marks box. Under Bleeds, click both Allow bleeds and Bleed marks.
WHAT IS BLEED? Bleed is the image or artwork extending beyond where the document will be trimmed. Its probably best explained visually. The thin lines are trim marks and tell us where to cut your document and the image extended past these lines is called bleed.
Trim off the margins of the paper beyond the crop marks by cutting across the crop marks. This cut does not need to be precise it is just to make the crop marks extend to the edge of the paper so you can use them to line up the next cut. Align the crop marks with the cutting edge of the paper cutter and cut.

Crop marks (aka trim marks) are small lines placed in the corners of print-ready artwork. Theyre used to indicate the intended edges of the final print product; in other words, they simply tell the printer where to trim.
To do this open InDesign and then click on View Automation Scripts to open the Scripts palette. Step 2: Click on the palette for Crop Marks script which is usually installed. Step 3: If it is not installed, insert the InDesign or Creative Suite CD and drag the script into the script folder.
